Introduction to Pottery Wheel – Ideal for Beginners This course is perfect for those new to pottery, looking to learn the fundamentals of throwing clay on the wheel. Our classes are designed to be enjoyable, educational, and packed with opportunities to grow your skills. Your instructor, Ani, is a professional artist and potter who is passionate about both her craft and sharing her knowledge with others. You’ll start by learning the art of centering the clay – think of it like the scales musicians practice – and then move on to creating simple shapes such as bowls. The final session will be dedicated to glazing your creations. Course Details: Dates & Time: The beginner course runs over four consecutive weeks, on weekday evenings from 6 pm to 8 pm. Location: 19 Ross Rise, Taupo Class Size: Limited to 4 students per class Age Requirement: Open to students aged 15+ years Throughout the course, you will learn how to center the clay on the wheel and pull basic forms such as bowls and cups. The final class will be all about glazing your work with color! Additional Information: Clay and tools are provided. Please wear comfortable clothing (or an apron) and bring an old towel. Short fingernails are recommended for ease of working with the clay. Refunds & Rebooking: Please treat this booking like purchasing tickets to a movie or concert. If you're unable to attend a class, you're welcome to resell your ticket, and we’ll do our best to assist with the process.

Should you become ill during a course, we will endeavor to assist a catch up session where we can, Due to the small size of workshops and limited space at the studio this may not always be possible.
